Did you treat anybody with your FIRST salary?

“Remember to treat me when you get your first salary, ok?”

“Ok. But… why do we have to treat people when we get our first salary? Is that a tradition or something?”

“I don’t know. You just have to do that… It’s like that one ma! Everybody’s doing it…”

I’m perfectly fine with that. It just got me thinking about where actually on earth this ‘ritual’ came from.

Don’t you think it’s kinda… weird?

It’s not like I’ve just won a lottery or you just told me today is your birthday -_-

I wonder how many people actually follow any “custom” (e.g. custom like this) without much thinking.
