Grace

The things I’ll look into how to do are:

  • To make mistake gracefully;
  • To apologise gracefully;
  • To take criticism gracefully;
  • To be nervous gracefully;
  • To admit my ignorance gracefully;
  • To express my weird thoughts gracefully.

*poop*

My smile is graceful enough can!

Still NO??

The most important thing I literally learned in Africa, is to be able to say “Hi” to almost anybody – “anybody” means anybody. Max

A Sum of Work

Aug 05 2008 9:01 pm Published by Sir Mayo under sketch

I’m gradually accepting the idea that getting and solving problems is the biggest part of working life.

——————————————————–
1 Get Problem >
2 Do a little blaming & get a little worry >
3 Accept the current situation and realise you need to do something >
4 Look for solution >
5 Solve it >
6 Divert it to your superior if it’s out of your control
——————————————————–

I’m still stuck at the #2 sometimes.
Just learned a lesson telling me that I should totally avoid taking it personally at #2.
No Love/Hate. No Good/Bad. Only “I think this is the best for the company.”

I believe you’re just like me.
So I think I have just summed up most of the working lives on this earth into a formulae.

Woah.

Me = Genius.

Hahaha.

Brand

Juicy Couture is so interesting that I have started a Juicy Research on it yesterday. I finally finished flipping through their annual financial report just now (a report, yes you get me right). Remember the last time I actually read a financial report was during my subject Entrepreneurship in the university.

You can get the report here.

Certain points mentioned in the report are impressive. The ideas about branding and image-building are among those that caught my eyes, because they are the topics that I have been interested in and studying. They just made me feel wanted to hit the market with my own brand or label. Muaha.

Here are the Juiciest Juices I’ve extracted from the report:

Irresistible Product
Our product goal is simple: To tempt and excite consumers with something they don’t need—but must have.

My Note: Fashion brands are most of the time selling things we don’t really need. But, they are making their products so attractive that we feel like we have to own them – this is the power of Branding. Personally, I think the power of branding has to do with what the consumers see and how they feel about the brand. It like hypnotising the senses of the consumers by controlling what they see and how they think (for example, through advertising and printed advert).

Building Buzz’ and Brand Loyalty
Brand image is more than the quality or desirability of the product itself. Brand image comes from who is wearing the brand, what people are saying about it, where it is sold and how it is merchandised.

My Note: There’s always a part of you that is trying to act like your role model. And, there’s also always another part of you that wants you to be what you’ve always wanted to be. For example, Juicy Couture is classy, and you have always wanted to become, or to be perceived as a person with class. So the Brand Image is going to work on you in that way. The Branding magic is going to work harder if the brand Juicy is a favourite label of your favourite actor, or it’s merchandised at your favourite shopping spot and presented in a very attrative pattern. The right combination of the mentioned dimensions can help creating a fanbase or a poll of followers who might not be able to notice the spell the brand-builders have casted on them. It’s just like creating an illusion that the consumers have always wanted to attain or to make comes true. Eventually, the products sold will become “something they don’t need – but must have”.

Key Aspects of Competition

  1. Quality,
  2. Brand Image,
  3. Market share,
  4. Distribution Methods,
  5. Price,
  6. Size,
  7. Location of Selling Space,
  8. Customer Service,
  9. Intellectual Property Protection

I wonder if the same theory applies to Branding in the blogosphere. Hah it’s interesting!
Will read more when I have time.

Happy Reading.

Sidekick

Aug 02 2008 8:53 am Published by Sir Mayo under toys

I’m very into phones and PDA nowadays.
Seriously, a phone is the second thing I want after Mac.
Hoho. A money-waster/gadget-addict in making :P . Kidding.
[But just realised there's a limit in terms of $$. Thought I could get more :( ]

I want Sidekick. But it’s not available in Malaysia. So, I’ll keep on wishing. Sigh.

Cracked from Ebay? Hmm.
