Restless

I’m writing this at the Johannesburg airport because I’m now feeling restless and have got nothing to do and wanting to write something.

*Warning: A long meaningless rantings follow.

Now I can totally understand what’s the meaning of being “helpless in the foreign land”.

My bags are so damn heavy and I’ve got no bling-bling in my pocket. How do I bounce around in the airport like that?

Sigh. No bling = no shop -__- Thought I could buy some souvenirs for my family members and my friends*.

(*Hmm… friends or colleagues? They are more than colleagues now Now that reminds me of one of my university friends who once referred me as his “roommate” per se. I was like o__o I mean, is there really a difference?

But yeah obvious there’s a difference when you started to realise that certain people are just so protective that they have to constantly remind themselves who is who and who is not)

And bad things always come together – I have got to wait for a bloody 4-hour in the airport -__-

Because of my bag, I almost wanted to go to the help desk and ask for a trolly. But I didn’t do it as I can imagine they will throw me a long weird stare before they went “Ex… excuse me? Excuse me?”

Hahaha! I ma spoiled bloody obnoxious asian.

(I can hear Ms Hape my african friend screamed from the other end: “You’re a fake china-man because you don’t even know kung-fu! You Fong-Kong* Chinese!”)

*”Fong-Kong” means “fake” in local africa. Also referred to imitated China product.

So anyway, sometimes we do have to do some explanation when we are Malaysian Chinese. People just don’t understand where we are from.

So… yeah, no money, no souvenir for now. Planned to buy on my way back to Malaysia. So sad I have to save money for that. Kua kua~ Mind you, my allowance is just enough to survive ( -__- what the ??).

But I’m happy that my bank account has been accumulating quite some money since the day I left The first thing that came to my mind is a New Mobile Phone, then Eee PC, then Macbook, then clothings and then now Airport Extreme (Is it how the wireless modem from Apple called? Don’t remember) And I’m sure in the end my shopping list will still be empty.

Why?

New Mobile Phone – I have always wanted to buy one for myself. I have NEVER bought one for myself, you know. The one I’m using now is almost like a gift from my auntie. It’s a normal clamshell from Nokia.

*Gasp* No camera? no wireless? no bluetooth? plus no sexy design???

That’s why. So because people around me always say I spend money using my guts and not brain, so I ma dedicated like a good  30-minute brainstorming session to “evaluate my need” (sound so scholar and intelligent! Woo!)

Why do I need a NEW phone?

01 I never actually spent my own money for my own phone.

02 My current phone is so normal. Normal design. Normal colour. My phone so “Normal” lo! (Hehe)

03 My phone no camera. Cannot use Wireless.

04 Looking at my current job, I think I need something like a PDA phone. I don’t want to keep so many papers! (In fact I don’t hehe)

Why I DON’T really need a NEW phone?

01 My phone is still working. No need to waste money la.

02 You’re phone is OK even though it’s looking normal. How do you want your phone to be “abnormal”?

03 You have a camera already. And you bring it along with you all the time. You already have a laptop given by your company during your trip and it can online wirelessly. You don’t really need a phone that can online, don’t you?

04 You don’t really need it. It’ll cause you at least RM2000.

See. My brain cells always fight with each other for stupid reasons. I’m sure a lot of casualties -__-

(I wonder where the dead brain cells went after that. Any idea? I don’t think they come out from our body together with the pees lo…)

Haiz… lazy to think about Eee PC, Macbook, Clothes and modem already. Shitty.

Ok. I think I’ll buy a wireless modem. It definitely can make my sister’s life easy at home. She can cook in the kitchen while doing her assignments!

So this wireless modem is reasonable. And Apple just popped into my head again

But I’m sure it’s at least 2 hundreds more expensive than the normal brands.

Will check online again and look-see look-see.
